DrainVision Video Pipe Inspections

Drain Vision is a state-of-the-art technology that accurately pinpoints the location of any problems in your home’s drainage system. Our pipe inspection specialists will be able to determine exactly what problems are occurring with your drains and then help you find the best solutions to those problems.

If your drains are running slowly, it could be because of any number of problems, including:

  • Tree roots have grown into the pipes and are blocking the flow.
  • Some type of debris is causing blockage.
  • A break in your sewer line causes sewage to leak into your yard.

How Video Pipe Inspections Work

We use a special remote-controlled camera that we feed through your drain pipes and sewer lines, visually inspecting the entire length of the pipe, from your house to the roadway. By locating a small problem early on and correcting it as soon as possible, you can avoid having to dig up your entire yard and replacing your sewer line.

Our Video Pipe Inspections Are Useful For:

Locating any of the following:

  • Broken pipes
  • Offset joints
  • Foreign objects in pipes
  • Collapsed pipes
  • Cracked pipes
  • Corrosion

Inspecting any of these parts of your home:

  • Drain lines
  • Septic tank lines
  • Water lines
  • Floor drains

FAQ about Drains and Root Growth

What Happens When Roots Get Inside Water or Sewer Lines?

If they’re not disturbed, roots will continue to grow into your pipes will multiple hair-like root masses at every point of entry. The roof masses then cause the pipes to clog with tissue, grease, and other debris, which can be a huge problem for your entire plumbing system. A complete blockage may occur if the roots are not removed and root growth is not impeded.

Once roots have entered your home’s pipes, they continue to grow and expand, exerting considerable pressure at the crack or joint.

What Should I Do if I Suspect Root Intrusion in my Water or Sewer Lines?

Even if you’re unsure about whether your drainage problems are being caused by root intrusions, you should call McMahon Plumbing & Heating as soon as you’ve noticed the problems. Our professionals will provide you with a thorough and accurate Drain Vision video inspection so that we can determine the precise problems and treat them at their source.
